Haven't gone to the Rotterdam. It is an amphibious ship from the Netherlands about the size of Gunston Hall. Really tired now. Going to eat bfast and then hopefully get some sleep. We had a flight quarters, photo ex with 10 ships, and a ras on my afternoon watch yesterday. We are in 3 sections and are really tired after the rev watch. Need to finish an after action report for Dakar, send out the mess bill and give the CO and XO theirs separately, and go through our vault inventory this afternoon before the watch. Thank goodness I won't be on deck to give the Ops Intel brief. They put me on the spot the other day to do it because Ops is on the Rotterdam as the Liaison Officer and the new 1st Lt, acting Ops, Heading the Exercsie, had to go to Combat b/c we were in the middle of an exercise. I didn't know what they were going to be talking about because I had been on watch the whole day. Didn't read any messages or wahtaver. I should have just read off the slides. Now I may have to do it so I am trying to keep up to date. The comms for the amphibious launch H-Hour stuff we are doing today finally got patched and were finished at the beginning of my watch around 0145 for a 1A LCU at 0300. Anyway, leg is what looks to be getting better. Still taking pills. Decreasing redness and swelling. Still a pretty big bump on the site. Scab forming finally. We got word that our request for coming home early was confirmed and granted. Didn't do anything for the USMC birthday. When we were import Dakar the Marines had a dinner thing at the local Marine house there to celebrate.

This website is for family and friends to easily obtain updates on my adventures in the Navy. Internet connection at sea may be intermittent so updates will most likely be sporadic as well as my response to you. I'll be in the Virginia Beach area until the end of July before going to meet my ship on deployment.
